Due to COVID-19 related staffing constraints, Ada-Borup Elementary (PreK-5th Grade) will be going to a short-term distance learning model. During the duration of this learning model, we will have limited students on campus. Students will be learning remotely via Google Classroom. The short-term distance learning will begin on Wednesday, November 4th and go through Friday, November 13th. The plan is to have all students return to school on Monday, November 16th.

On Tuesday, November 3rd, students will be going home with a school-provided device (k-2 iPads, 3-5 Chromebooks) and a packet of materials for the 8 days of distance learning. Teachers will have all “live session” schedules up on Google Classroom. The expectation is that students will log into their Google Classroom and be “live” on Google Meets for instruction during the day. If your child is not able to attend live sessions, please contact the teacher for recordings and classroom expectations. All materials and course work must be completed in a timely manner. Paper materials must be returned, completed, on Monday, November 16th in order to receive a grade and to be marked present for distance learning. In addition, attendance will be taken daily through contact with the classroom teacher.

We will be providing school-age care services during this time for children of Tier I Critical Workers. This care is intended for extreme circumstances in which no parent or guardian is at home, due to employment as a critical worker. If it is a two-parent household and one is not a critical worker, children will not be accepted in the services. The guidelines are as follows:

This school-age care must be provided for district or school-enrolled school-age children age 12 and under who are children of critical workers in Tier I of the state critical worker list. Children of Tier I workers only will be cared for at no cost during the typical school hours.
