This week we celebrated Fire Prevention Week, learning all about fire safety and how to stay safe in emergencies. We wrapped up our lessons with a special visit from the Ada, Hendrum, and Halstad Fire Departments!
Firefighters talked with students about staying calm and safe, not being afraid of firefighters in their gear, and—new this year—the importance of never charging lithium-ion batteries overnight due to their fire risk. Students also had the chance to tour several types of fire vehicles and explore the equipment firefighters use to protect our communities.
This visit wasn’t just about safety—it was also a job talk! Firefighters shared how rewarding it is to serve their communities and encouraged students to think about becoming the next generation of local heroes.
