ABW Junior Raymundo Zenteno helped Mrs. Scholl to enhance her Fur Trade lesson for Social 6 by bringing in this deer hide for the students to see and feel. The hide came from a buck shot by Natan Visser last fall. Raymundo cleaned and tanned the hide over the last few months. Natan plans to use the fur as a rug. Ray told us not only about the tanning process, but also about the history of the Fur Trade in North America. The 6th Graders had many intelligent, relevant questions and were thrilled to be able to touch the finished hide.
