We look forward to meeting our future Cougars! 🐾

Hutch taught our students how clouds are formed, explained the science behind tornadoes, and helped them understand how to stay safe during severe weather. Our 4th graders were engaged, curious, and full of thoughtful questions the entire time!
Hutch, thank you for inspiring our students and sparking their excitement about weather and science. We are so grateful you took the time to share your expertise with us! 🌪️☁️

Today we want to send a BIG thank you to our amazing bus drivers!
Our drivers do so much more than get students from point A to point B — they greet our kids each morning, keep them safe on the road, and help start and end every school day with care and consistency.
We appreciate your patience, your kindness, and the important work you do for our students and families every single day.
👏 THANK YOU, ABW Bus Drivers! 👏

Bravo, Mrs. Blotsky—another amazing show! 👏✨

This spring, students will get to launch their very own wooden canoes—what an awesome experience ahead!

1st grade had an absolute blast with the parachute in PE—lots of movement, laughter, and teamwork to warm us up on this cold Minnesota morning. Nothing better than big smiles and active kids to kick off the day!

🏀 Celebrating Our PE Team ❤️🖤
Today, we are shining a spotlight on our outstanding PE teachers—Mr. Stewart, Mr. Monson, and Mr. Hennen. Their energy, dedication, and commitment to student wellness play an important role in supporting the physical, social, and emotional growth of our students.
Each day, they create engaging and inclusive learning environments where students are encouraged to try new activities, build teamwork skills, and develop lifelong healthy habits. Through intentional instruction and positive encouragement, they help students grow in confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship—both in and out of the gym.
Thank you, Mr. Stewart, Mr. Monson, and Mr. Hennen, for the enthusiasm and care you bring to ABW Elementary. Your leadership, positivity, and dedication to our students make a meaningful impact every single day. ❤️🖤
Due to the snow and increasing winds throughout the afternoon, school will be dismissed at 12:00. After school activities are cancelled.
Celebrating Our 5th Grade Team ❤️🖤
Today we shine a spotlight on our outstanding 5th Grade Team — Mrs. Brue and Mrs. Altepeter. Their dedication, compassion, and skill help shape our oldest elementary learners into confident, capable, and kind young leaders.
Every day, they foster classrooms where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired. They go above and beyond to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences — from educational field trips to opportunities for students to give back to our community, including visits to our local living centers. These experiences help students develop empathy, curiosity, and real-world understanding far beyond the walls of the classroom.
Thank you, Mrs. Brue and Mrs. Altepeter, for the passion and heart you pour into your work. Your leadership, creativity, and commitment to our students make ABW Elementary stronger every single day. ❤️🖤
We are thrilled to recognize Annie Goldader as the Ada-Borup-West Teacher of the Year! Annie inspires our Middle School students every day through her passion for Reading and English, bringing literature to life and helping students grow as thinkers, writers, and communicators.
Congratulations, Mrs. Goldader! We are so lucky to have you! ❤️🖤📚

Celebrating Our Custodial Team — The Heart of Our Safe, Clean, and Welcoming School ❤️🖤
Today we extend our deepest appreciation to our incredible Custodial Team — Brent Vanderplaats, Bonnie Vanderplaats, Jason Bitker, Curt Kemper, Dion Biggers, Brian Pelzman, Ethan Torgerson, and Doug Slininger (Grounds). Their hard work and pride in our school create the clean, safe, and welcoming environment our students and staff depend on every single day.
This team keeps our building running smoothly in ways many never see — ensuring classrooms shine, hallways stay safe, spills disappear like magic, and our grounds are maintained with care and attention. They show up early, stay late, and bring a dependable presence that strengthens our entire school community.
Their dedication allows students and staff to walk into a building that feels ready for learning, connection, and success each and every day.
Thank you to our entire Custodial Team for the essential work you do and the pride you bring to ABW Elementary. You help make our school a place we are proud to call home. ❤️🖤
